Getting Started
How do I get started?
Book your free initial video consultation with Sarah through our online scheduler. If you decide to move forward after your consultation, you'll complete your intake forms, any required lab work, and then begin your personalized plan. Coaching is optional and is never required before your first visit.
Are your services available in my state?
Our services are currently available to residents of Utah and Idaho.
Do I have to work with a fitness coach?
No. Medical weight-management care with Sarah is complete on its own. One-on-one fitness and lifestyle coaching with Austin is an optional add-on for patients who want extra support.
Medical Care
How often will I meet with a provider?
Your plan includes 1–2 provider appointments per month, based on your individual treatment needs, plus ongoing text support. To ensure safe and effective care, at least one provider visit per month is required to continue any prescription medication.
Your first visit must be a video consultation. After that, visits can be by video, phone, or text messaging, whichever works best for you.
GLP-1 Medications
What is a GLP-1?
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar, appetite, and digestion. GLP-1 receptor agonists are medications that mimic this hormone, helping with weight loss by reducing hunger, slowing digestion, and improving blood sugar control. These medications are commonly prescribed for weight management and metabolic health.
What is a compounded medication?
A compounded medication is a prescription medication prepared by a licensed pharmacy or other authorized compounder to meet an individual patient’s medical needs. Compounding may be appropriate when a patient’s needs cannot be met by an FDA-approved medication or when an appropriate commercially available formulation is not available.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, meaning the FDA has not reviewed them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed in the same way it reviews FDA-approved medications. Compounded medications are also not generic versions of FDA-approved medications.
When a compounded medication is being considered, your provider will review your medical history, treatment goals, and available treatment options to determine whether it is medically appropriate for you. FDA-approved medications and other alternatives may also be discussed as part of your treatment plan. Read our full compounded medication disclosure.
Do GLP-1 medications work?
GLP-1 medications have been studied for weight management, and results vary from person to person. They tend to work best when combined with healthy nutrition, regular physical activity, and lasting lifestyle changes. Sarah will talk with you about whether medication is appropriate for you.
Labs & Monitoring
How do I get lab work done?
We partner with Access Medical Labs and LabCorp for laboratory testing. Once your provider orders your labs, you'll receive a lab requisition to take to a convenient location for your blood draw. Your provider will review your results and discuss them with you at your next appointment.
What labs are included with my plan?
Complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), hemoglobin A1C, thyroid panel, lipid panel, and fasting insulin. Baseline labs are completed before treatment, with repeat testing approximately every 6 months as clinically indicated.
Pricing & Payments
How much does it cost?
Month-to-month is $350/month. The 4-month program is $1,340 total ($335/month). The 6-month program is $1,800 total ($300/month). Your initial consultation is free. See full pricing.
Are medications included in the cost?
Yes. Your prescribed medication and delivery are included in your plan cost, so there are no separate pharmacy charges. Medication is prescribed based on your individual health needs and is included only when medically appropriate.
Do you accept insurance?
ShapeUp is cash-pay and does not accept insurance. After your initial consultation, payment for your selected plan is required before your first follow-up visit and before any prescriptions are sent.
Fitness & Lifestyle Coaching
Why would I add a lifestyle and fitness coach?
Weight regain is possible once GLP-1 medication is stopped. A coach can help you fine-tune your nutrition, exercise, and daily habits in a simple, sustainable way that fits your life.
How much does coaching cost?
Coaching is priced separately from medical care. Pricing is shared directly with interested patients. Ask about coaching.
Can I still join if I already have a personal trainer?
Yes. You can keep working with your current trainer. Sarah will focus on your medical care and overall progress while your trainer handles your workouts.
